Akumfi Abuakwa – Central Region
This pre-school was in total disrepair with cracks on the walls, windows broken, roof leakage, screeded compound developed pot-holes and the entire structure needed painting. All these works were completed and the group provided a 680-litre polytank for water storage, two big drinking water receptacles and furniture for the school to seat 160 children. In addition to these, the group provided school uniforms – 53 pairs of shot and shirts for boys and 52 straight dresses for girls in the school. A member of the group adopted a girl who she purposed to help had some unforeseen circumstances not befallen the guardian which necessitated the removal of the girl completely from the area. In the first year, the girl was provided with everything she would need for school: dress, shoes, bag, books, etc. and upkeep money for a whole year.
